Can anyone help?

I am having trouble getting WEP to work on my RH Linux 9 laptop.

I am using a 128bit key, for example 9B42BB5A175A0013EC3DEBCC6B

I know that my hardware supports 128bit keys because it works fine on my XP
hard drive that I have for the same laptop.

(eth0 is my wireless network card)

The Linux setup works fine until the WEP is enabled. I have tried using the
GUI network utility which says I must put 0x in front of the key i.e.

0x9B42BB5A175A0013EC3DEBCC6B

But it still doesn't work; I have also tried entering the key without the 0x
with the same result.

I read on a newsgroup that the GUI doesn't work correctly and you have to
edit the /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth0 file and change the
line:

KEY=s:

To

KEY=9B42BB5A175A0013EC3DEBCC6B

I have also tried

KEY=s:9B42BB5A175A0013EC3DEBCC6B

And

KEY=0x9B42BB5A175A0013EC3DEBCC6B

Am I just doing something wrong here or will this just not work?

I am using a Netgear MA401 wireless card and a Netgear MR814 router

Thanks

Steve.
