Author ADSL Problem again...

Is anybody out there, who has
successfully connected the the internet
with an ADSL line, using the kernel.org
standard kernel and redhat 8 or redhat 9 ??

The strange thing is, that all modules
are loaded correctly and there no more
error messages than "connection
terminated,..." (see below).

I tried 2.4.20, 2.4.21, 2.4.22 and none
of them worked. I've not tried a kernel
older than 2.4.20.

Here is my /var/log/messages

Aug 25 21:17:07 papst kernel: PPP
