I am new to RedHat. Please assume nothing. I have a Linksys VPN router
that works fine in a small LAN at home. It has served me well in the past.

I want to set up an email server and HTTP apache server behind this Linksys
firewall.

1. Can I name my computer as in the past a single word like "MyHomeServer"
or does it have to be a FQDN something like "my.home.com" ?

2. How do I get the Linksys Router DHCP to do all the work and assign the
proper 192.168.xx.xx address to the new "server?" Do I just not even
install the DHCP server on this server computer, not enable or start it, or
something else?

thanks for your help ... I have more questions related to setting up the DNS
numbers.

Phil
