I recently "updated" the mb in the redhat box I was using as a general
router/server in my home network.

I say '"updated"' because the new mb is still a fairly archaic, A6XBC
(ABit/AOpen?). I have two NICs installed.

1) eth0: DLink 220 ISA 10bT card to link to the cable modem (I'm not
there at the moment and I forget what kind it is).
2) eth1: DFE 630+TX PCI 10/100bT going to the hub for everything else.

All seems to be good, but only for about 60 minutes. After that period,
I start gettting "Next frame Inconsistency" errors on the login
terminal.

At this point, all external network traffic slows to a crawl. If I
"ifdown eth0 and ifup eth0" all is well again for the aforementioned
hour.

What is the cause of a "frame error"? I am asuming it's an interrupt
issue, as I had no problems with the same NICs in a different REALLY old
mb.

TIA

Problem semi-resolved. I turned of APM in the BIOS and all is well.
