MAC adr. of a remote host

| Is there a way of reading (with a C/C++ progrm) of the MAC address of a PC
on LAN (and Internet) ?

If you are on the same network node, probably. once you pass thru
routers I don't think so. So LAN, yes, Internet, no. I am assuming you
mean reading this data remotely?

Do you know how (which API calls etc) to read the MAC adr of remote host
machine on LAN?
