Fed up with security problems on windows?
Fed up with the endless updates from microshite?

No problem!!

just install suse linux By Novell and all your security &needless updates
will be a thing of the past!!!

And when you wake up from your beautiful dream you might give a thought to
installing the needed updates to SUSE, to make it secure

now you know what is meant by being novell "certified"
completely certifiable.

SUCKERS!!!!

Good. Now that you have meade your point clear, go playing again

To mess up a Linux box, you need to work at it.
To mess up your Windows box, you just need to work on it.

Same old argument about the number of updates. If you have nothing new to
add, don't even bother.

Idiots! Can't believe they actually try to fix problems. Microsoft's
"don't tell us" / "bug doesn't exist" policy is much, much safer!

Not only that, but the new release would incorporate all but the most
recent of those.

The other factor that seems to have gone un-noticed is that each of
those updates came out a mere few days after the problems were
discovered.

Billy and his gang are only recently getting to the point where they
release critical updates without waiting for their standard 3 to 6
months later group plan.

The reason is all of these discussions about how our stuff gets fixed
inside of hours or days, and his shtuff has to wait until several
problems can be addressed all in one update package that comes out
weeks or months later. He didn't want to look like too much of an
XXX.

I like (or not) how he sell products that have a package marked
"windows 98 or above" on the minimum requirements panel on the box,
yet I am unable to get Win XP or Win XP 64 drivers for the product as
it is "no longer supported" (Strategic Commander game device). Were
this the "gangs of New York" days, his lame XXX would pay for his lack
of support for what I paid for in trust.

There was a time when backward compatibility, much less forward
compatibility, was part of the standard requirement for operating a
business.

Let's all thank Billy for changing what a warranty provides for, and
charging you to find out that it doesn't.

Customer Service used to be a company function that actually had
depth and meaning. If you were a product owner, you got customer
service.

Now, under Billy's rule software authors say "Oh, you bought our
product and now you want it to work... You'll have to pay extra for
that." Classic bait and switch. It only took him twenty years to
perfect the ruse, and get us to pay for it. Now, industries
everywhere are embracing the "Screw the Customer" mentality.

I used to get a schematic with my stereo receiver as well.
We pay for these XXXXXXX's futures, and then we pay when they screw up
what they sold us, so that they can attempt to fix it.

At least in the Open Source world, folks still know how to work
together, and what the word community means.

Hahahahaa... That has to be the first time I saw something that I
thought was sarcasm, and it turned out to be a mere iteration of
"fact". (the bug policy part, not the "much safer" part).

Marketing, an early start, familiarity to new users, FUD from trolls,
circular reasoning....

Trolls are probably an embarrassment to Windows users, if they bother
to pay attention to you. Especially when you post way off topic, and
don't check your spelling.

Well Sir Top-poster, winblows is easier to use because it was designed
from scratch to be an insecure system. Winblows XP may have some some
home grown concept of security - I don't know - I've never used it. Never
will.

What does the conversation have to do with alt.religion.w-w-church-god?

It's because of know nothing freaks like yourself who don't even know how
to post to news groups.

I am not high and mighty and have never claimed to be so. You are
obviously claiming we are embarrassing the field you live in.

XP is a pretty good OS. Far more secure, in my opinion, than previous
versions of Windows. With all the hardware support, it is easier to
install than Linux if you have slightly exotic hardware. Don't get me
wrong, I love Linux, but simple little things like my USB not working
at all on my new computer are going to dissuade possible converts from
switching from Windows.
