Author RPM stopped working... help

Hi,

Suddenly rpm stopped working. I upgraded recently to version 4.1-1.06 (part
of redhat 80). I was able to install, upgrade and remove several rpms this
way. Today suddenly it didn't work anymore. when i -i -Uvh or -e or even -qa
the rpm seems to hang. It won't stop without being killed. I
tried --rebuilddb, but that also hangs. Anyone an idea how to revive rpm or
how to install it from source (where to get the source???).

Thanks,

I'm pretty desperate. I do install most software from tar.gz, but some thing
are just more practical with rpms

Yours,

Willem Kossen
