In the course of attempting to install a genealogy database called
Gramps via the package "gramps-0.98.0-1.i386.rpm" on a recent reinstall of
Fedora Core 1, I get the following feedback:
__
Updating system
Installing individual packages
gnome-python2-gconf-2.0.0-2
__
Followed by this error message:
__
Error installing package.
There was an error installing packages.
Exiting.
__

I tried a couple of times, after attempting to erase the remains of the
aborted instalation via

rpm --erase gramps-0.98.0-1.i386.rpm

which seemed to be effective. However, upon subsequent attempts the same
error recurred. This is puzzling because I have had this program
operational during prior installations of the same version of Fedora.

I ran the Update sequence off the installation CDs, and that was of no
help.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks!
