Author RPM Error

When attempting to install firestarter rpm (which I've done
successfully on many other machines), I get the following error:

'query of /root/firestarter-0.8.3-1.i386.rpm failed!'

This was received using the gui tool (i.e. kpackage). I am logged in
as root etc.

When I try from a teminal window using rpm command line (even with all
kinds of switches), it simply returns to the command prompt!

No error - nada.

The rpms are in root's home, no permissions issues etc.

Help please?

firstarter-7.1-1.386.rpm
firstarter-8.2-1.386.rpm
firstarter-8.3-1.386.rpm

tx in advance,

Richard.

Richard,

Have you made typing errors in the above list?
If so, why have you got different version in the list?
You need only the latetest version for the install.
RPM gets confused when you try to install different versions of the same
rpm.
