John, sorry there was a type (it should have been firestarter).

As for the versions in the list, I was merely trying to point out that
I've tried all three versions with the same result.

I've even built a 'basic system', i.e., one not in production and get
the same errors.

My point is that I've done this many times (using kpackage and rpm) to
install this particular package with great sucess. Now rh just retuns
this error.

I appreciate any advice or help.

So, to be even more creative, I'm building a rh9 system and will try
firestarter 9.3 to see what the heck happens.
