more info? motherboard - onboard video, lan, etc?

for example, i have an asus a7n266-vm motherboard with onboard nvidia nforce
video, sound, lan etc. when i installed, same problem as you described
using x install. had to go with text mode install to avoid the crashes when
x tried to start up.

that initial install does not detect the lan card or sound. i had to
download those using windows (luckily i had it on a dual boot machine with a
shared fat partition).

but once you install the nforce linux drivers - no worries.

don't know if your mboard same, but i had come across a lot of people with
same m/b with same problem.

btw - i was talking about rh9, but had sim thing with rh8. assuming rh7.3
would be similar too.
