Author yum whatprovides libXext?

Redhatsters:

Under CentOS 2.6.9-42.ELsmp, I'm trying to compile an old package
(khtml2png-2.0.3), and it wants libXext.

Installing various things under xorg doesn't help.

The line yum whatprovides libXext lists many packages, all of which are
installed. When I attempt to build libXext from source, it asks for xproto,
meaning that path is widening, not narrowing. And copying the various
libXext*so files from /usr/X11R6/lib to the current folder doesn't work, as
doesn't setting the --libdir.

How to satisfy this configure??
