RH9 Re-install partition problem

I have a P4 running a 120GB HD. The HD was partitioned for 89GB NTFS
and 10GB for FAT32. The remaining 22 GB are free.
Some months ago I attempted to install RH9 from the factory CD but ran
in to difficulty with the FX5200 video card. I removed the Linux
partitions with Partion Magic 8.0 and I used Windows2000 Recovery's
FixMBR to get rid of Lilo.
I am now attempting to re-install Linux RH9 but keep getting error
saying unable to allocate partition space. I have looked at this space
with both Windows2K Recovery and with RH9's Rescue mode. Neither shows
any old Linux Partitions in the 22GB unallocated space.
Any ideas why I can't partition this space?

| Go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management and select
"Disk Management". It provides a lot of details about the disk and allows
you to right-click on free space and define partitions.

OK. This would work, and I guess I can do that. However, I was
wondering why the RH9 Installation was unable to make its own required
partitions when attempting the installation.
Can I assume, then, that using the Windows Tool (you described above),
that after I make the required Linux type partitions, that then RH9 will
recognize them and use them when running the RH9 install?
Thanks,
Ed
