Hi, I'm trying to install RedHat linux 8.0 using KickStart, on an IBM
NetVista machine. When I type "linux ks=floppy" or "linux ks" (or any
other "linux ks=***" thing), it just seems to completely ignore me, and
boots linux as normal - no error messages are displayed, and it does not
attempt to do a kickstart install.

I created the boot floppy using "mkbootdisk". However, in a previous
attempt, I had a floppy that I created using the redhat boot.img, and I
encountered the same problems. And yes, the "ks.cfg" file exists on the
floppy.

From google, I've noticed that other people have encountered this problem.
However, I haven't been able to find any messages proposing a solution.
Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Shea.

Hi Mike
It seems that you have to specify every arguments on the ks.cfg in the
install order.
Can you recreate a kickstart by using the kickstart configurator. Them
adding some arguments you need.
It should work.
Have fun
Vincent
