I suggest your go out and buy a good beginner's Linux book.
The "Red Hat Linux Bible: Fedora and Enterprise Edition" by Christopher
Negus is a pretty good book for a beginner using Fedora Core 1 &
discusses many thing Linux in general. It gives you enough info to get
started pretty good descriptions, but less on the technical side (mostly
usage and basic config stuff). Once you read seomthing like that, you
will most likely want to pickup some more detailed Linux books once
you get you feet wet enough and want to do more advanced things.
Google is also a great tool to find a lot of info on specific
topics.
Lastly following the various Linux newsgroups also provide a great
deal of info on various Linux issues & distributions.
