USB install problem and Boot floppy

| 2 Q's.
1. redhat 9 insall hangs on detecting a USB device (I've seen a bugzilla on
this with no fix). I fixed this by typing linux nousb at the prompt, but
assuming I can get all the way through, how would I enable usb support after
I have installed, assuming its just an install problem with USB and not a
general issue?
2. having had an unpleasant experience having a WIn2K boot record wiped, on
this WinXP machine I'd prefer to boot linux from a floppy so I dont have to
worry about getting my MBR stomped on. Can I do this as part of the install
process? ISTR doing this with SUSE some considerable time ago, but with RH I
got as far it getting ready to install grub, so I aborted. What I want is ;
boot floppy in A drive, RH boots, otherwise, XP boots.
TIA

My experience installing RHL 9 on my machines was I had to
use the 'nousb' option when booting the installer, but had
_no_ difficulties using USB keyboard and mouse during the
installation or afterward.
Good luck.
