Hi,

here is the problem I have:
after I have log, a error dialog box appear
stating that it cannot find the ip address and that if I
connect Gnome might be unstable. it then adds that I
should add "david-bg03sdceu" to the hosts file.

I have edited the file /etc/hosts but I still have the same problem.

what could be the problem? - syntax, wrong file etc.

I must add that eventhough I get this error message I can
connect to the internet and Gnome seems trouble free.
I use a cable modem connected to an ethernet card.

thank you for responding.
