Author Dual boot Fedora Core 3 disk formattable from Windows 2K

I have Windows 2000 pro and Fedora Core 3 installed on a single disk in
a dual boot arrangement. From Windows, using the Windows Explorer file
viewer, I can see the partition holding Fedora Core 3, listed as disk E.
I click on it, and Windows invites me to format it! Not a good idea.
Is there a way to hide the Linux partition more securely?

I have a W2K and Redhat 9 dual boot on another system (a laptop) and the
linux partition does not appear in Windows Explorer.

Regards,

Mark
