No. The same issues with respect to proprietary formats are still in place:

You can run the FC5 installer and then choose upgrade, rather than a
clean install. The installer will attempt to locate existing
installations and prompt you accordingly.

I will note however, that my personal preference is to do a clean
re-install, rather than an upgrade. This has been the case since RH 8.0
and it ensures that each new install is in fact clean and not risk
mixing and matching of versions. That is my personal preference and
while shared by others, is certainly not universal.

One thing to consider is to utilize a partitioning approach so that your
/home partition is separate, which enables you to do an upgrade or clean
install without losing your own personal files and settings.

Be sure to have at least two backup copies of any critical files that
you need before doing any upgrades. Why two? Because Murphy's Law says
that your sole backup copy will be bad and unreadable when you most need it.
