One of our servers failed when serving online and is now failing to load
Linux.

First signs is 'portmapper' fails, then "Starting NFS quotas" fails with the
message :-

"Cannot register service: RPC: Unable to recieve: errno= connection
refused rpc.rquotad: Unable to register (RQUOTAPROG, RQUOTAVERS, udp)"

Then it is hanging on "Starting NFS Demon".

On Ctrl-Alt-Del the system shutsdown under control from runlevel 6.

When trying the rescue or Linux install disk it fails on "Loading SCSI
driver"

Loading aic7xxxx driver...

There it hangs.

I thus suspected the DAC960PG SCSI controller but that seems OK in the boot
sequence and when checked by the Configuration Disk I downloaded from LSI.

Looks like some port mapping problem ???

Any help welcome,

Aaron
