There are two separate problems, the old Redhat 9 portmapper failure.

I do not know what caused this ?

And Fedora Core 5's failure to load the DAC960PG driver.

Later after about 15 minutes it says :-

Loading DAC960 driver...

There it hangs forever, or over an hour
