Author Fedora 5 on a Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop -- Display problem

I've just installed Fedora 5 on a partition of my Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop.
The boot sequence displays properly on my laptop's LCD, but as soon as
Fedora "goes into graphics mode" the display ONLY appears on an attached
monitor. I've looked everywhere I can think of to try to find settings that
will force Fedora to use my laptop's LCD screen but have not been able to
find anything that works. I cannot take the attached display with me
everywhere I go -- so I must solve this problem.

Any suggestions re where I should look to configure Fedora so that it uses
my built-in LCD?

Thanks!

PS: My other partition runs Win XP Pro, SP-2; I use Grub to control which OS
gets booted. This is my first experience with Linux.
