Hi we run a website based on htm/html pages, asp scripts and an SQL backend.
Before we had a problem and were having a lot of events in the sys event log
and after some time, if i try to access the website i would have an error
"Service Unavailable"

Then i turned the web server to run in "Isolation Mode" though everysome
time it seems that the IIS stop communicating with the SQL server. In fact
the whole pages load up but the SQL driven data won't show up :\

The only even we are finding on the web server is this:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: W3SVC-WP
Event Category: None
Event ID: 2237
Date: 1/28/2004
Time: 3:30:03 PM
User: N/A
Computer: S42910
Description:
Out of process application '/LM/W3SVC/179685904/Root' terminated
unexpectedly.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Also i found other events that say the the IIS services has terminated
unexpetadly and they are being restarted automatically. Any help please
would be really appriciated cause i am getting mad.

Regards,
Robert Abela

You can try running IISState in crash mode:

iisstate -p <pid of dllhost in question> -sc <enter>

That should catch the problem and give you some direction on next steps. If
you need help w/the log, you can post to the group.

Nope. Just make sure the w3wp.exe is up and running before you attempt to
attach. It may take a while after you start it for the problem to occur.

Robert,

If your server is crashing or hanging you might want to
download our ReJuvin8 tool. It's free for the first
15-days. It can keep your site running despite problems.

It's designed to detect problems then restart or reboot.
It can restart ANY programs, services, or processes in
precise order. It doesn't fix bugs but it does give you some
breathing room while you are finding them. ReJuvin8 also
gives you email and telephone alert messages and graphic
status reports. It runs as a Windows Service.

It can also test, alert, and report on URLs running anywhere
on any server on your net connection. So if you use multiple
servers you can use them to watch each other, too.

ReJuvin8 has both an automatic and a custom mode. In the
auto mode you make all the settings by pointing and
clicking. This will handle most applications.

The custom mode uses heartbeat synch files to get absolute
detection that key processes are working. Tools and
instructions are provided to help you do this. We also offer
customization as a contract service.

Charles
