| hi,
i recently installed mcafee anti-virus, firewall, and
privacy security software. i now cannot access any pages
on the local host (i.e., http://localhost/*.*). even
after disabling the software i still cannot access the
pages. only when i perform a complete OS install can i
access the local host.
can any tell me if i should be adjusting a security
parameter to make IIS compatible with mcafee?
thanks

| Hi,
IIS doesn't know anything about McAfee. Your McAfee software needs to be
adjusted somewhere so that your browser can reach IIS at http://localhost/ I
suggest you contact McAfee about how to configure their software.
Cheers

That'll teach you to install McAfee...

Normally all you need to do is allow scripts in McAfee. But you'll
need to configure the McAfee firewall as well to allow those
ports/services you need, specifically HTTP on Port 80 but probably a
few others.
Check the McAfee documentation for help on this.
