Hello,

There is a server with OS Win 2003. It has running IIS 6.0.
There are several clients that tries to open PDF files through this server,
The problem is that when the path to the file or filename contains
lithuanian symbols, the file fails to open.
Instead of opening PDf content in an Internet Explorer it shows absolutely
blank Internet explorer page.
The problem is solvable when the client computer has WinXP, because after
making all available WinXP updates the problem is gone and the PDF file can
be succesfuly opened.
But for clients with Win2000 OS this problem is irresolvable.
All month we can't find any soluttion.
That is why I am writing to this newsgroup.

This problem is very hot for me, because it appeared on a production system
and it MUST be solved somehow.

I appreciate any help.

Thank you.

Respectfully,
Vytautas

I'm not shore but I think that my problem is related with IIS.

Are you only have problems opening PDF files with Lithuanian symbols? In
other words, can the Windows 2000 Clients open HTM files whose name has
Lithuanian symbols?

IIS is the web server, so if the problem happens for both HTM and PDF files
and you do not have them ScriptMapped on the server, then the problem is
likely not on the server so we cannot do anything about it -- only the
clients can resolve the situation.

My only guess is that maybe you need to enable UTF8 URLs on the Clients and
see if it helps.
