Hi,
I'm trying to deny access to an asp file using the IIS mmc snap-in. In
the property sheet for the file in question, I un-tick the box for
Read access. When I go to view the file in my browser, I can still see
it. I do not get this problem with files ending in htm, html, jpg,
etc. It only seems to be with files with an asp file extension.
I get the same results making the changes with ADSI.
Has anybody else had this problem?

Running IIS 5.0 on Windows 2000 Server with SP4.

Thanks
Scott

Have you treied simply using NTFS permissions?

This happens because you're not actually reading the file - you are
requesting ASP.dll to process the file... this is by design...
