IIS5, challenge response, user password expired, no message
|
|
| =?Utf-8?B?bnI=?= 2004-01-29, 10:35 am |
| We had IIS4 on NT4 using challenge/response and for a cross domain connection when a users windows password expired they got a message telling (and I think allowing them) them to change it.
Now we have migrated to IIS5 on win2000 and I am told they no longer get this message and can't log in.
Has anyone come across this problem?

| Thanks Kyle,
They've already done that and it allows the user to change the password
but they don't get the message informing them that the password has
expired so don't know to do it..

| Hi Nigel,
I couldn't find any known issues with the password change functionality not
working across domains. Confirm that the user can browse the following page
and change their password.
http://servername/IISADMPWD/aexp.htr
...or this page if your using asp instead of htr password change pages.
http://servername/IISADMPWD/aexp.asp
If that works, please describe the exact behavior your are seeing when the
user accesses the website with an expired password.
Thanks,
Kyle Terns, MCSD

| Well I know they can change the password but just don't get the password
expired message - I'll see if I can get more info.
