Author IIS Access denied for anonymous users

I get a sign in screen asking for a username, password and
domain. If I cancel that, I get a white page that just
says "Error: Access is Denied."

Thanks,
Andre

Hi Andre,

In your Authenication methods you have Anonymous checked, do you also have
Integrated Windows Authenication checked as well, and if so what happens if
you
uncheck it, restart the IIS services and then try hitting the page, what
type of error do
you get then?

I am having the same problem

I unchecked 'Integrated Windows Authentication' and the dialog box still
appears

would the "critical" web server patch I installed the other day using Windows Update
have anything to do with this?

Also, it seems to me there's 1 extra ISAPI filter since I installed this patch...I don't know
anything about these so I'm not about to go deleting them on a whim...but it sure is tempting

any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks in Advance!

oops...got it working now

I thought changing the settings at the
root would change the sub directories
