| Hi,
We have a server (one of a mixed environment) running NT4 / IIS4 w/ SP6 and
all hotfixes. There are two SSL enabled web sites running on IIS. One is
Citrix NFuse the other is Outlook Web Access (for Exchange 5.5) These sites
have been functioning without issue for years.
A few months ago, after adding another ASP based site (also w/ SSL) we
noticed that the SSL engine would freeze up and the SSL ports would become
unresponsive. You could still get to port 80, but SSL was frozen. When
this happens the www publishing service will not respond to a shutdown
command and inetinfo needs to be killed with task manager. Once the
services come back up, everything is fine but never for more than a day.
Our first thought was obviously to suspect the new site we added and as of
two weeks ago, that site is no longer enabled (it has been moved) and the
SSL certificate is no longer bound to any ports. Nevertheless, the lock ups
continue.
Looking on Google I can't seem to find anyone else having this problem and I
am frankly getting tired of getting calls in the middle of the night when
this server freezes up. Can anyone here offer some insight?
Thanks,
Justin McMichael
