SSL is terminated at the webserver.
If you connect to a resource on another machine, that
connection is not encrypted with SSL.

You can configure Kerberos/Windows security for
connections to resources in a Windows LAN.

Thanks for the response!

How do I set up kerberos between 2 servers. One of the servers is running
IIS 6 and they are both using Windows 2003.

Lastly, how does the trasmission work between the user and the network
share? For example, the client is accessing an intranet
(https://intranet.domain.com) which is secure when he/she logs in. Then
they click on a link which redirects the user to their network folder using
virtual directory/webdav (https://intranet.domain.com/folder which really is
\\server\homedirectory) which is no longer secure. Is the tranmission of
information between the user computer and the network folder? Or does it go
from the user computer to the intranet then to the network server?

I am trying to determine what is not encrypted? Is it...

1. Any tranmission of information from the client to the network share?

OR

2. All information between the client computer and the intranet server is
encrypted and only the information between the intranet server and the
network server is not encrypted?
