Author Using DFS with IIS 6.0

We have IIS installed on a Windows 2003 server, all running in an Active Directory domain. We use to have our flat-file data stored on a separate drive in the same server. We decided to move it to a different, raid-protected system, and provide access t
o the flat-file data with virtual directories pointing to DFS shares.

The DFS shares seem to work fine for usual windows networking. Everyone can get to their data with no problems. What we haven't been able to do is let web users access the data. I can't seem to get rid of the need for a standard web user to enter a use
rname and password for any file existing on the DFS share.

I've tried a lot of different combinations of security settings, and still no luck. I figure there must be some trick to it. Does anyone know what I'm missing?

Thanks.
