Author worker process failed to initialize the http.sys

Hi,
I keep seeing the following error in my event log and none of my web
services are working.
"The worker process failed to initialize the http.sys communication or the
w3svc communication layer and therefore could not be started. The data field
contains the error number."

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing IIS but that didn't help.

Has anyone seen this problem before? Does anyone know what would cause this
and how to fix this?
Thanks,
Sharath
