Hi

I've got about 30 web sites running in one application pool. The process
runs at about 100% for 30 seconds or so a few times a day. I've logged the
CPU performance with perfmon on this process.

How can I find out which web site and which application is to blame? I've
looked at IISState but I don't have all the dlls to run it (I have to order
a CD from Microsoft or something apparently) and I'm worried about running
it on a production server. Also as I'm not likely to be at the consol when
the problem occurs I'm not going to be able to run a the IISState debugger
at the same time. If I could find out which web site was doing it that would
be a start. Are there any performance counters for web services that would
help me or is there anything else I should be doing?

Thanks in advance.
Andrew

You don't need to order anything. You can obtain a full install from
www.iisfaq.com. It will pause the process while it is printing the log.
The first time you run it, it will also need to download symbols from MS
(which can take a while), but generally even the first time it is done in
<2min. After the symbols are downloaded and cached on the HDD, it runs in
<30 sec.

You can run it on IIS6 via Remote Desktop.
