FrontPage 2003 sites won't extend with 2002 Extentions

I have found that I always get the message: "the server administration
program and the server extentions on the web server are not compatible. the
adminstration program is too old to use with this server." but that only
occurs trying to extend sites created with FrontPage 2003, sites created in
earlier versions work fine. The newer sites when veiwed on IIS or Sharepoint
Services administration window show a version begining with 6 and they won't
extend all others with a version begining with 5 work fine. Is FrontPage 2003
not compatible with Sever Extentions 2002? Any suggestions would be
appreciated.
