What are the most recent versions of server software for home use and how
can they be acquired and installed.

My OS is XP Pro Sp 2. My primary web authoring tool is FrontPage 2003.

What version of IIS should be installed on this system. Does that version
support FrontPage Server Extensions 2002?

Thank You,
Dennis D.

P.S. I want to use this server for testing a FrontPage 2003 website prior to
publishing it to a remote hosting service.

Thanks.

XP Pro uses IIS 5.1
Yes, it supports FP ext.
XP Pro is not considered server s/w.
You can open a hole in your Firewall if you are using Comcast and thus can
use a port other than 80 because Comcast closes 80.
So you can use it as a server but on a very limited resource basis.

Hello,

Only IIS 5.1 can be installed on Windows XP Pro. It can be found on your
installations CD.

IIS 5.1 supports Frontpage Server Extensions.

I was just using IIS for localhost and installing FPSE's on the default web.
I think I'm getting the n-tiered services idea in real time.

Thanks,
Dennis.
