Self-signed certificate for IIS 5.1
|
|
|
| I found the IIS resource kit for IIS 6.0. It had a utility for creating a
self-signed certificate. It worked great for windows 2003.
Next I need to create another self-signed certificate for for IIS 5.1 and
windows XP. I found the makecert program in the .Net. I was not able to get
it to work with IIS 5.1
Am I barking up the wrong tree?
For a small non-profit organisation a Windows 2003 license is too expensice.
We have to make do with a windows XP.

| Selfssl is designed for IIS 6.0 only. However.... if you managed to get the
IIS reskit installed. Just copy the selfssl to the XP machine and run it.
Errr. it will works. but not sure it violate any user agreement or not. So
double check and read again
