There are quite a few books for ASP, my favorite for a rank beginner
would be:
Beginning ASP 3.0 by David Buser
Beginning ASP Databases by John Kaufman
ASP in a Nutshell by A. Keyton Weissinger
ASP Learn by Example by Robert Mellor
The last one is pretty decent at walking you through things to learn,
the first two are also solid beginner's books. Nutshell books make
decent references even after you have a handle on the subject.
For IIS, Mitch Tullock's book is best, though William Stanek's
Administrator's Pocket Reference is a great reference tool. You'll
also need Windows administration and possibly basic networking skills.
Starting from notihing I'd recommend heading in the .NET direction.
It's often easier to learn when working from scratch than if you
already know ASP.
