Can someone explain the UseSharedWPDesktop option in more detail? The IIS
documentation explains that we should use this option if we need to have
more than 60 application pools with unique identities. This has the pools
using a "single shared desktop, at the cost of a single encapsulation of a
user session among all parties."

Can someone translate that bit to terms I can grasp for managing the web
server? One of the reasons for separate application pools is to isolate our
shared hosting clients from each other. How does sharing the desktop effect
the security in this context? Are there other implications?

Thanks,

Mary Rafferty
