| In IIS Manager, right click the website and click Properties. Click on the
Home Directory tab and make sure that the path is an existant path.

| In my case, I could not even fire up the IIS Admin. I got an error that
states: "Windows could not start on local computer... check service-specific
code -2146893818

| That is error 0x80090006. It usually happens when the IIS metabase
configuration is encrypted with one key but it does not match the actual
machine's private key.
This can happen if you reinstall IIS and then restore an old IIS
metabase.bin file.
There is no resolution other than make sure to have a metabase.bin file that
is encrypted with the current machine's private key. This usually requires a
re-installation of IIS and then things should be set.
