Hello,
If i wanted to create a homepage webpage or website, should i install
like Frontpage on the same server where IIS resides? It seems more
convenient but i have a feeling over time, it would cause problems with
html files all over my IIS server. I would think that installing
something like Frontpage on a XP workstation and maybe connecting to
the webserver share drive to dump html files there is probably a better
way?Any recommendations from anyone who not only maintained IIS server
but created their own website pages? Also, did you use frontpage or
dreamweaver? Thanks.

Normally you develop your code on a Windows XP client computer using what
ever you want, Front Page, Notebook, Visual Studio, Anything

You then publish your content to the web server.

But then there are no HARD rules - it is your server!

Hi!

Do you want to use Frontpage to create your pages on the server? If so,
then you can install this application. If you will not use this
application, do not install it.

My understanding is that you have two machines, one server and one XP
workstation. My recommendation would be to do all your work on the
workstation, and publish your pages to the webserver; either by Frontpage
Extensions, or FTP. I think that both Frontpage and Dreamweaver works with
both these methods, so it is probably a matter of which application you
prefer to use.
