IIS 6.0 hardware server sizing
|
|
|
| Hi
I am looking at some formula / calculations to do hardware sizing for
server running IIS 6.0. The only info available is -
# Max 5 concurrent users
# Max 20 transactions per user per sec
# Expected response time 5-7 secs
What is required is (No of CPU's & RAM, that will suffice the above
requirements)
Any help/guidance on this will be great.
Thanks
Ram

The answer is 42.
And yes, that's the best answer you can get given the input you
provide.

How long is a piece of string?
There is no way at all to give a valid recommendation without knowing IN DETAIL
the type of transactions. And then you will likely need to test a configuration
under real conditions and increase the hardware as needed.
