Author FTP access - 500 error for external user trying to acces our server

Our internal FTP server works fine internally and externally for all our
users except ONE:

They pick up the following error after loggin in:

500 permissions - abnormal error.

I have tested their permissions locally in our office and their password and
username work fine....any comebacks appreciated

Just using ftp vai a browser.....it works for everyone except an outside
client using a macintosh...I discovered that is she tries on a windows pc it
works...

For some wierd reason the MAC asks for an extra field value:

USERNAME
PASSWORD
ACCOUNT

Why Account?

I have no idea what 'ACCOUNT' is
Now, can she try other ftp client app ?

this is client side issue, as other users and ftp client can access without
problem.
