IIS 6 - big files limit
|
|
| Adrian Wandt 2004-12-02, 3:57 am |
| Hi,
I am running an IIS FTP server on Windows 2003 and I have a problem
handling big files.
I´m not able to handle files bigger than 2GB with the IIS. This files are
listed with "0 bytes".
Is there any possibility to change this limit because we are using many big
files in our company.
thank you

What FTP client? Might see:
The FTP client program cannot upload a file that is 2 GB or larger in
Windows Server 2003:

Hi, thx for your answer. Let me explain the problem better.
Our server is running IIS6 on Win2k3. At this FTP are many files bigger than
2GB.
I´m not able to download any of this files with several ftp-tools like
flashfxp, filezilla or any tool else.

Try with the command line FTP and post the response codes you get. A
number of people seem to report this type of problem, and there was an
issue with IIS 5.1 on XP with FTP size, but I don't find anything
offhand about this on server 2003.

Hey,
it seems that it is a problem between the IIS and the ftp client.
With the command line ftp and another ftp-gui it works fine. but
some ftp-clients doesn´t work. why ? what´s the problem ??

Log everything on the FTP server logs and then try again. Might be a
time out issue, may be a client issue. If the client can log, check
there as well.
Maybe Alun has an idea as well.

| It should be client related. And yes ftp.exe do have this problem with large
file. and again it's not meant for such usage
as regarding the filesize... AFAIK - Server OS don't have the 2GB limit
issue (only client OSes - xp pro)
i have successfully downloaded 2.1 GB from IIS 6 server via IE before. of
coz it take a while..
