| Let say the IP adress of my LAN FTP is 10.0.0.1:21
How do I give collges permission over WAN
I have set up my router to pass through FTP
On my LAN the ip checks out from other network computers
I need colleges to dial in and get file access.
What would the ftp adress they need to type to get access
to be able to pass through my router ?

| Your friend will access your public interface - router IP.
ensure you can access locally at the ftp server before you
test from remote site, make sure you had open required ports.

| I am stil not getting it right.
I use ftp.exe and cant connect in command prompt
I use ftp://n.n.n.n:21 and connects in explorer
My local ip has been forwaded the router. "n.n.n.n:21"
I tried working through router ip x.x.x.x to access my
local ftp(n.n.n.n:21) and it does not comply.
My scenario:
If I could get access by typing n.n.n.n:21 , my port
forwading has been set up correctly.Except if I need to
set up additional ports for WAN access.
Is there a site that can take me through the whole
procedure of setting up IIS ftp to be able to work through
a router
Please help.
Much appreciated

| You should refer your router product manual on how to enabling such feature,
what I can tell you is that you need to open tcp port 21/20 for active mode
and others for passive mode -

checkout the product vendor support site and etc.
