Hi,

I am currently moving our ftp site over from RedHat Linux to Windows 2003 Web edition.
I would like to keep as much of the existing functionality as possible, but am having problems doing so.
Is it possible to configure the FTP server in IIS 6.0 to allow different types of access to the same directory depending on the location a user is logging in from. I want to allow anonymous users logging in from the local network to be able to add, delete and read all files in both the publich incoming and outgoing directories, but other anonymous users logging in from remote 'unknown' IP addresses should only be able to read files in outgoing directory and write files to incoming directory.

I have tried to do this using virtual directories, but remote users appear to be denied access all the time.

Is the above setup possible?

Thanks in advance for any tips/advice.

There's only one anonymous user per site. if you case, you can configure two
site, one for internal and one for external. but I would advise to configure
one site with anonymous user for external user, and create a user for
internal users to login and access, then control access via NTFS
permissions.

these kbs apply to IIS 6 as well.
