If someone could help me. I wonder if is posible to get
and run FTP protocol without the instalation of IIS.

Or if is posible to install FTP services from IIS, and
then unistall IIS.

Thanks.

One option would be to run a third-party FTP server application. Which one
you choose is purely a matter of personal preference.

Sonia,

You can install only the FTP service component of IIS if you wish.
This KB article explains how :

HOW TO: Set Up an FTP Server in Windows 2000
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=300662

HOW TO: Set Up an FTP Server in Windows Server 2003

Thanks Mike. But,what do you mean with a a third-party FTP
server application?

Could you give me more information about this, or maybe a
documentation reference to look up for this purpose?

Sonia.

Blackmoon FTP Server is one of my favorites

There are many more, try CNet's list:

Technically no, but you can install just the FTP portion of IIS. Try
this:

HOW TO: Set Up an FTP Server in Windows Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;323384

Or use a third-party FTP product such as WFTPD and you don't have to
install any IIS component.

Note that CNet requires developers to pay $79 annually to have their
software listed there. You're unlikely to get a good listing from them,
because many developers (ourselves included) refuse to pay to provide
content for CNet.

The OP may like to take a look at our software, WFTPD and WFTPD Pro, which
can be downloaded for trial at our web site, http://www.wftpd.com.
