| I'm trying out the English version of Server 2003 (with
Asian language support installed) with a ftp directory
containing Chinese file names. The file names look fine
in the Server's explorer view.
However, when I use FTP client (both English and Chinese)
to connect to the server, I can only see garbled file
names! Any cure to this?
THanks.

I ftp using IE, I can navigate to the folder and download the file.
thought IE address bar so ftp://localhost/%B7%C9%BB%FA/

| That's the problem. In the FTP client file listing, I=20
can't see out the proper file names in Chinese, just a=20
bunck of "^^_[^^]" (i.e. garbage). The same thing even=20
if I use IE6 as the FTP client. Any solution to this?
THanks

| Yes I'm running English XP with XP's Asian language=20
support. I can browse asian sites without any problem...=20
It feels like the FTP server is truncating a byte off the=20
unicode (double byte) file name before sending the=20
listing off to the ftp client cause all the Chinese file=20
names in the listing contains "^^^^^" in place of the=20
proper file name.

| Well, this is not happening to my case.
I can see the chars correct from all Chinese languages client machine. You
might want to try other client ftp appilcation or try IE newsgroups.
