FTP Access denied ?
|
|
| Jim Matthews 2004-08-03, 5:53 pm |
| One of my users has a problem wherein he tries to logon to our (secure) FTP
site via a browser (IE6)
After he types in the ftp://ftp.mysite.com and hits enter, the URL changes
to ftp://@#ftp.mysite.com and fails to be found
We trued restting his "cached" password - no luck
Does anyone have a clue what might be causing this ?
TIA
JM

Jim,
I've never seen this before and I am unable to reproduce this problem
using IE6 on a number of FTP sites.

It's possible that he's using a character in his password that is "special"
in terms of an FTP URL - for instance, "@", ":" or "/". It would appear
that this is a question that you should be asking in the Internet Explorer
groups, since it looks more like a client issue than a server issue.
Alun.
