| We had been creating content on blogger.com that is posted via ftp onto iis
server. it was working fine until 8/14, at which time the server shows five
security updates. i assume it's not a coincidence; found and successfully
executed "how to configure passiveportrange in iis" (kb555022) by Bernard
Cheah. now we can ftp internally (192.168.x.x) but not externally
(68.106.x.x) even though i think we established an "easy-server" for the
ports specified. any thoughts? Thanks.

| Now, we have seen issue about ftp connection after sp1 + certain security
patch. but no official words from MS. Can you try this
Installing security update MS05-019 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1
may cause network connectivity between clients and servers to fail

| I followed the instructions in this article, applying the hotfix because sp1
is already installed. however, the problem remains as before.
one thing to note: upon reboot after installation of the hotfix, we were
notified of three errors:
"05/08/21:12:05:22 AM: iis worker process encountered a problem and needed
to close . . . "
"05/08/22:03:36:34 PM: backup exec job engine encountered a problem and
needed to close . . . "
"05/08/22:09:03:24 PM: webblocker encuntered a problem and needed to close .
.. . "
further thoughts? thanks.

| Sorry, been busy. I saw your posting in directaccess group as well, let's
follow up there.
FYI, the error you posted are not related to IIS ftp.

i acknowledge that the errors aren't iis ftp related.
