Is there any way to setup a secured FTP on Windows 2003, for example using
SSL? I know that IIS 7.0 will support this feature, but I need the
functionality now.

Thanks,
Gilgamesh

Hi

No, that's not possible in IIS 6.0 on Windows 2003.

If you need this functionality right now, you'll have to look at a 3rd party
ftp program (e.g. GlobalScape).

Other alternative is to secure the entire ftp connection via VPN

Actually, you can secure file transfers...but not via FTP. You can do it via
HTTPS (http://www.windowsnetworking.com/ar...WebDAV-IIS.html)
but automating is extremely hard, so it seems. Or at least I have not found
the answer...to which I am here searching today.
